International Mine Action Project Manager

Job Overview:
OCHA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Mine Action Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Mine Action Section, you will be responsible for leading the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of capacity building projects in mine action.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates capacity building projects in support of Libyan security and defense institutions and other relevant mine action stakeholders.
- Monitors and analyzes program/project development and implementation, reviews relevant documents and reports, identifies problems, and initiates corrective actions.
- Liaises with relevant parties, ensures follow-up actions, and provides technical support to UNSMIL and lead the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of capacity building projects.
- Performs consulting assignments and provision of specialist technical expertise on mine action and/or weapons and ammunition management.
- Researches, analyzes, and presents information gathered from diverse sources, coordinates policy development, generates survey initiatives, designs data collection tools, reviews, analyzes, and interprets responses, and prepares conclusions.
- Organizes and prepares written outputs, e.g., draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
- Provides substantive backstopping to consultative and other meetings, conferences, etc., proposes agenda topics, identifies participants, preparation of documents and presentations, etc.
- Initiates and coordinates outreach activities, conducts training workshops, seminars, makes presentations on assigned topics/activities, leads and/or participates in large, complex field missions, including provision of guidance to other Mission's components, bodies responsible for the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and drafting mission summaries, etc.
- Coordinates activities related to budget funding (concept of operations project preparation and submissions, progress reports, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (inputs to programme strategy, workplan, budget submissions, performance reporting, etc.).
- Candidates will need to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area. At least 5 years of experience in a mine action field programme in one or more of the following areas: explosive ordnance disposal, demining, IED threat mitigation, explosive ordnance risk education, and/or weapons and ammunition management is required.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience, plus comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, life insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
