Post Doctoral position in Prokaryotic Ribosome Biology Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking creative and self-motivated applicants. This position will investigate the molecular basis of Ribosome quality control in human pathogen Staphylococcus Aureus for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Yap laboratory, located in the Edward A. Doisy Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology ). The study will focus on Ribosome recycling and turnover during stress responses, and the roles of relevant key players in Staphylococcal pathophysiology. Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences (or a closely related field) and should have less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience. The ideal candidates will possess significant experimental training in bacterial genetics and biochemistry, as evidenced by at least one first authorship publication in peer-reviewed journals. Previous experience in RNA metabolism, and/or translational control, and/or murine model of infections is highly desired. The stipend level will be commensurate with years of experience, and starting date is negotiable.
