The Strait Regional Centre for Education seeks qualified candidates to join its team as a Term Teacher of English as an Additional Language (EAL). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters student learning, achievement, and well-being.

As part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, the Strait Regional Centre for Education delivers the public school program, focusing on supporting student success. Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English as an Additional Language (EAL) courses at the P-12 level;
• Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs;
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback;
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and instructional practices;
• Support students with additional learning needs through targeted interventions;

Requirements:

• Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia;
• Methodology courses or experience in teaching EAL at the appropriate level;
• Excellent classroom and student management skills;
• Knowledge and experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies;
• Masters degree in EAL or comparable training or work experience;
• Minimum three years recent successful classroom teaching experience at the P-12 level;
