QUALIFICATIONS:

MSc Fire Engineering or BTech. Fire Highly skilled Fire Protection Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and assessing fire protection systems. Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), It is considered an addition Strong understanding of oil & gas facilities and infrastructure. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage

 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Familiar with all International standards for Fire Fighting like NFPA, ASHRAE, ASNT, ASME, Building codes, IPC Good experience in Hydraulic Calculation Should be able to evaluate the new design of fire water/foam system, Fire alarm system Should be proficient enough in Smoke Management System Classification of Fire Hazards, Pipe Sizing, Sprinkler layout, Fire Pump Sizing, Firewater demand, and standard installations. Evaluation or preparation of Head and Hydraulic calculation, Pipe Sizing & selection of fire pumps Designing of Firefighting Systems (Pumping, Hydrant, Sprinkler, Clean agent systems, etc.) as per NFPA Good Knowledge of NFPA Standards Responsible for evaluation of firefighting technical documents (basis of design, general layout, bill of quantities, scope of work, general concept) Review of Hydraulic Calculations for the entire system Supervision and follow-up of Installation of Internal Network Sprinkler System (Wet & Dry), Stand Pipe (Fire Hose Cabinets & Landing Valves), External network for Fire Hydrant, Pump room, FM 200, Deluge Spray systems and Pre-Action System.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Roles & Responsibility:

The following are specific roles within the fire protection and fire safety engineering field.

 

Design systems and equipment: install, maintain, and develop fire detection, fire suppression, and fire control systems and equipment. Design fire detection equipment, alarm systems, and fire extinguishing devices. Identify potential fire hazards in buildings, such as water supplies, exit, emergency doors etc. Making recommendations for the materials used in the construction or refurbishment of a building including the external wall systems Examining building design plans and conducting hydraulic analysis of sprinklers, deluge, (automatic fixed firefighting installations) and other fire safety systems · Research the behavior of fire under specific conditions. Research causes of fires, determine fire protection methods, and design or recommend materials or equipment such as structural components or fire detection. Assess the risks associated with a certain activity or event and make recommendations accordingly. Supervision and monitoring of construction work on fire-fighting installations Identify fundamental engineering guidance related to the knowledge base of principles and expertise required to establish recognized competency in the subject of process fire safety Responsibility for the installation of the new firefighting system including wet pipe sprinkler systems, dry pipe sprinkler systems, sprinkler systems, foam systems (foam-water/foam-water spray), and gas systems. Preparation and review of the calculation of fire water hydraulic network, piping, fire pumps, designing of all types of firefighting systems, etc.

Familiar with international codes and standards with good computer skills etc.
